SLF is short for spotted lanternfly.
When do the spotted lanternflies lay eggs?
Spotted lanternflies lay eggs throughout the fall.
When do the spotted lanternfly eggs hatch?
Spotted lanternfly eggs hatch near the end of spring, typically the second or third week of May.
When does the Princeton Lanternfly Initiative remove eggs?
We remove eggs from late winter until they hatch in May.
Are you still removing eggs for Spring 2023?
We are no longer taking requests for egg removal for this cycle.
Does the drone detector find eggs?
No, the thermal camera-equipped drone detects only adult lanternflies and not eggs.
